Design is very important to online learning. It is like a traditional classroom. The learning environment should encourage engagement but not be distracting.  I was able to generate a  list of Dos and use the table to rate instructional sites.

Websites That Need Work

	Clean and Easy to Navigate	High Resolution Images	Color Scheme that Works together	Overall Rating
Game Aquarium	Font changes and difficult to get back to the home screen	No photographs. The animation is clear and easy to see.	Way too busy	The website design is distracting from the content.
About Education	It feels a little cluttered. It is not the worst.	Images look great.	The color scheme is nice and appealing.	Not the worst! It could be decluttered.
Fun Brain	Way too busy!	The images are fine but really bright against a black background.	One word… Tacky	The students love it, but the design needs work.
Edmodo	It is clean but hard to navigate.	Images can be uploaded in high image.	The color is fine but not much contrast.	I find Edmodo hard to navigate with some bugs.
Grammar Bytes	Font too big. Too much space.	Images are too large.	There is a lot of white on the page.	The design could be scaled down and more appealing.

Khan Academy	Very clean and easy to find what you need.	Crystal Clear	The green and white is clean and cheery.	A beautiful design that is easy to navigate.

TED	A little busy but easy to navigate	Graphics and videos are high resolution	The red and white works as a nice color scheme.	Great looking website that is easy to use
Leonardo da Vinci Museum	Beautiful! Leo would be proud.	Lovely graphics	The color theme is thoughtful and compliments the material.	This is a slick website with all the bells and whistles.
