Being able to
create allows students to critically think about content. They have to evaluate
what is important. It also allows them to synthesize information. They often
have to problem solve, collaborate, and question. Using Web Tools the students
can create a variety of products. Students have choice in their learning. There
are so many options available. Students could a blog, create a presentation,
create a movie, perform a song, or many other choices.
One choice for
student learning could be to create a comic. A great tool is storyboard that. I
had 2nd grade students create comics explaining how ancient
civilization contributed to architecture. This project would be good for
visual, artistic students. I found it very easy for young students to use. There
are many templates and characters. Storyboard That produces teacher guides for
suggested use and instructional practices. They group the uses by grade level
and subject. They even give examples. Check them out here: teacher guides and lesson plans
